Do you need to collect luggage at KMG and rebook for travelling YYC-YVR-NKG-KMG-DAC?

I am told by some people they had to collect luggage at KMG and rebook DAC. Can anyone tell me if this is true?

Yes, collecting luggage and recheking in it is necessary at KMG.
