Places/cities to go for a day/two day trip near Shantou

I was thinking Meizhou, Guangzhou or Shenzhen.
Any recommendations?

Guangzhou will be a better choice. In addition, you can manage the trip in the following way:
Day 1: Yuexiu Park, Shamian Island, Pearl River Cruise
Day 2: Ancestral Temple of the Chen Family, Canton Tower, Guangdong Museum
