About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144 hour visa/Hello i’m French and I want to go to Beijing for less than 6 days.

I will flight from New York and want to come back to New York after. Can I apply/ask for the 144 hour transit ?

Of course New York-Beijing-New York obviously does not qualify for transit without visa, because it's not a transit.
