About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Phuket - Beijing - Mexico City (with a stop off in Guiyang)

Hi,

I'm flying from Phuket to Beijing to Mexico City next month and using the 144hr transit visa to stay in Beijing for a few days. This is probably a stupid question but the Phuket to Beijing part has a 12hr transit in Guiyang - I do not intend leaving the airport, my bags will be checked through to Beijing.

Will this be ok? Or do I need to get a direct flight to Beijing?

I used the 144hr transit visa for Shanghai last year but it wasn't as a complicated a route!

Or another flight with a 2hr connection in Guangzhou!

Need visa with that route has to be nonstop to use the transit without Visa

thanks matt, i thought that might be the case. looks like i'm going straight to mexico then as the direct flights from Thailand are too expensive right now.
