Chinese Visa on old USA passport

Me and my wife have a new multiple entry Chinese visa attached to our USA passport that was submitted for renewal. We received the new passports, but don't have the old passports yet that has the Chinese entry permit attached. We are planning to go on a cruise in March 19 - 26, 2018 that will be making ports of call in China. Can we use the same Chinese entry permit on our old passport when we get them back or do we need to apply for a new visa?

You can travel by bring the new and old passports with the valid visa, no need to apply for a new one again.
