About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hi, I will be travelling on the trans Siberian train, departing from Beijing.

First stop after Beijing will be Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia. We are Australian passport holders. We plan to stay in Beijing for 3-4 days. Will we qualify for the 144 hours visa free transit? Thanks

You need a visa. The Trans-Siberian Express leaves from Beijing Railway Station which is not an eligible port of entry and exit for 144-hour transit. (In fact, it's not a port of entry at all, all passengers on the train would clear immigration in Erenhot.)
