About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

72 hours transit in Guangzhou

Hi, we are flying from London to Auckland via Guangzhou and would like to stop for 48 hours in Guangzhou using the 72-hour visa-free transit. Can we go to Hong Kong during our transit? We will go back to Guangzhou to catch our flight back to Auckland.
Thank you.

You can if and only if you are going to HK and back by air. Leaving Mainland China by land or sea is not allowed under the 72-hour transit rules.
