About:Chinese Paper-cut Museum

Transit visa or not

Hi,
I have a US passport.
Flying from Houston to Frankfurt to Beijing (4-5h layover) to Chiang Mai (Thailand), do i need a China entry permit ?
same for return

from what i understand i do NOT need a China entry permit; am I correct ?

Jean, you are right that you don't need to apply for China visa for the round trip in advance. Have a nice journey.
