Visa for a UK citizen living in Zug

I am a UK citizen living and working in Zug. I have a B-permit. Can I apply for a tourist L for China at the consulate in Zurich in person? Do I need to make an appointment? I am assuming that I cannot get a visa on arrival in Shanghai but could you confirm.

Kiran, you don't need to make the appointment for the application, and you can do that at the consulate in person. Try to apply for the tourist L type before the trip because you cannot get it upon arrival in Shanghai.
