About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Timing of doc processing at airport

How long does it take to get your docs processed at the airport these days? (72-hour visa-free stay). Last time I tried this it took me 5 hours to get out of the airport. I am not making this up.

It hasn't changed much, especially considering that some airports now require you to fill in an extra form which is only available from immigration (and many people not getting it right on the first try). so getting a 10-year visa is the way to go.

Pal of mine was in PEK's T2 three weeks ago and said that the officials took a good 15 minutes to process each person, even when there were only 4 people (including him) in line. That's not much of an improvement comparing to December's 20-minute-per-person record.
