Getting a job while in China

I'm on a 10yr-tourist multi entry visa and I found a job while here in China. The new company has applied for my work permit as internal application in China. During this time, 1) can i leave the country if it has not been approved yet (will be after CNY supposedly)? 2) can i leave the country after i get my permit, and when I return go to the Entry and Exit Bureau to change my tourist visa to foreigner resident? Or do i need to complete all process before i can leave China.

Since it is CNY, seems like i wont get my permit until after CNY..which i was hoping to travel outside of china during this time.

Thank u!

thanks edith!

sounds like it shouldn't be a problem to get back into the country w/ my tourist visa first.. and wait for permit and then head to exit and entry bureau.

thank you very much!
