Yuanyang Rice fields

We are planning a trip to China mid May to mid June. If we are going to the following cities what would be the best sequence:
Beijing, Shanghai, Zhangjiajie, Yangtze River, Chengdu
We will miss the rapeseed flowers but will it still be a good time to visit the rice fields?

Without knowing where you will fly into China, I can just give you a general suggestion:
Bejing - Shanghai - Zhangjiajie - Chongqing for Yangtze River - Chengdu - Kunming then to Yuanyang

The farmers will start to plant the rices in May and the scenery can be just so-so. Anyway, it is still worth a visit. BTW, the best time is Dec. to the next Mar.
