First time in my life I am confused transitting in Xiamen Airport required VISA.

Hi....

I had a bad experience where by I had to lost my USD 1,000 ticket to YVR, Canada only because I did not own an entry permit for just transitting in Xiamen WITHOUT EXITING THE AIRPORT OR STAYING IN CHINA. (Pay attention to my BOLD STATEMENT). This is very upsetting! not only I lost USD 1000 airline ticket and I had emergency to accompany my brother back home to Vancouver Canada after heart surgery.

Guess what after long argument, I was still not allowed to check in due to no CHINA entry permit in my possesion.
Anyway....I had to regretfully accept the condition based on country regulation.

What I want to know where I can check online WHICH COUNTRY THAT REQUIRES VISA EVEN FOR JUST TRANSITTING?
Please advise.

It depends on your exact route and how long you want to stay in China, as well as your passport.

My final destination was Vancouver, YVR and departed from Singapore, but the plane transitted in Xiamen, China. I did not want to stay nor even out from the aiport, but the check in officer said I could not check in since i did not have Chinese Visa.

I was amazed, never in my whole life flying experience that I have to own a visa just for transitting?!?
