Which documents should I submit for Hong kong tourist visa?

I am a Vietnamese Official Worker in Tokyo and I need a tourist visa to travel to Hongkong by myself this May.
According to the information I have found, It seems I need to submit "Original invitation letter, proof of employment and company leave letter", is it right?
Couldn't I cut the mentioned documents off?

The invitation letter is not necessary.
You need to provide residence permit in Japan, copy of valid passport, the application form attached with a passport-style photo, proof of financial support such as employment certificate, round trip air tickets, hotel reservation and your travel itinerary.
