A package was returned to me from China marked “removed” - what does this mean?

We have sent packages to this address for years without issue. Postage amount was correct.

As I know, the carrier has collection deadline. Maybe the addressee didn't pick up the item timely. In that case, the item might be returned to the sender. Thus it is advised to let the addressee contact local carrier and find the problem.
