About:Chinese Embassy in Botswana

im married in china ansd want to apply for Q1 type viasa, can i do it in Hong Kong?

hi i want to apply for a Q1 type and change it to residence permit while im in china so that i can live with my husband here. i am a botswana citizen, im currently on a business visa here but would like to change it, can i do that in hong kong? or do i need to return to Botswana to apply for the Q1 type?

Jade, you can first try to convert the M type to Q1 type at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB within mainland China. If it can be done, there is no need to go to HK.
