About:Chinese Consulate in New York

I have a 15 hr layover in beijing over night. I have a belizean passport

As stated i have a Belizean passport and will have a 15 hr layover in Beijing. I do not want to spend 15 hrs in the airport and would like to book a hotel near or within the airport if possible. So for my case will I need a visa?

It is possible. You can enjoy the 24 hour direct transit in Beijing if you travel country A-Beijing-country B. No need to apply for a visa then.
