About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Does earlier visas interfere with the free transit?

I am going from Saigon, Vietnam (17th) -> Shanghai -> Zürich, Switzerland (19th). I have already had a 6 mths. single-entry visa for China, is this a problem

That's not a problem. However you will encounter longer wait times than those holding a visa.
