Only two normal trains operate between and they take 34h. Are you sure you can bear that? If not, take a plane instead. As for market, do you refer to the famous market in Guangzhou? Since I have no idea what products you are going to buy, here I only recommend the famous pedestrian street - Shangxiajie Street, close to Changshou Road subway station of line 1 and Cultural Park station of subway line 6, and Beijing Road, which has a subway station nearby with the smae name.
