About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do we need a visa if we are staying in Shanghai from 11.15 on the 23rd leaving at 1700 on 25th

Can we use the 72 free transit.

Unfortunately it says we are from Uganda we are actually British and will fly into to Shanghai on 23rd and cruise out to Japan on 25th. Can we use 72 hour TRANSIT VISA.

You can if your first port of call is outside Mainland China.
