Does anyone know if we can change our tourist visa to a student X type in Thailand ?

We have a china tourist L type. We applied to a school and now need to change our visa to a student X1 or X2 type.
Can that be done at the Chinese counsulate in Bangkok with going back to our home country?
Does anyone know How much does it cost?
