Keeping bags safe

Hi, I will be taking many trains in China soon. When I was in China before I was traveling with a friend, so if one of us went to the bathroom the other could make sure our bags were secure. Do you have any advice for how somebody traveling alone can prevent theft? Thank you!

Keep your valuable belongings with you like phone, camera etc. Normal luggage will be find on the luggage rack above seats. Try to avoid leaving your seats when the train is about to reach any stopovers.

Baggage security on the trains is quite good... I have traveled many times on China trains with several pieces of baggage and all by myself, but I have never had any lost or stolen bag on the train, and I tend to sleep pretty much throughout the journey.

Just make sure your valuable items are secured on you in a wearable bag, and the rest of the luggage bags well closed, and racked up... they will be fine... never heard of anyone stealing luggage on the train.
