transport from shanghai to suzhou, then to nantongback to shanghai

Hi, I will be travelling Shanghai on 12 January 2018. please advise me on the best, most convenient and cheap way to travel to Suzhou to stay 2 nights, then proceed to Nantong for 2 nights and then getting back.Please tell me which station should I be in each city.Thank you.

For the first part of the trip, you can take the high speed ride from Shanghai railway Station to Suzhou Railway station. For the trip to Nantong and Nantong back to SH, it would be easier to use bus instead since no direct rail connection between. You can stay near Suzhou Railway Station. There are two long distance station nearby, you can reach Nantong from there and also take a long distance bus back to SH.
