S1 Type Visa For Both My Wife And Child!!!

I am a student, and got a place in China. I leave for China in 2 months, but I'd like my wife and baby to join me that side, so would like to know if it's possible for them to get an S1 type, and is it possible for us to start the application before I leave for school? (From Zimbabwe)
