About:Requirements for Permanent Residence Permit

if you open a company in china, 100% foreign owned, how should you get a residence permit?

I have worked for a foreign company (as engineering manager) in China for 14 years. Now I am plan to quit the current job and open a consultancy company, registered as 100% foreign company (in my name) in China. In this scenario how I should request a residence permit?

After you set up a company, you should first go to get a work permit. And then you can apply for a work Z type. Afterwards, you can get a residence permit.
