Visit the great wall with a 72 h visa

I will fly from Astana (Kazakhstan) to Beijing and then 2 days later on to Seoul (Korea). Can I leave Beijing to visit the great wall or do I have to stay in the city itself for the duration of my 72 hour free transit?
