About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Is a visa necessary?

I am an American citizen, currently living and working in South Korea. I have an American passport but will be flying from South Korea to Shanghai in February, and then back to South Korea. Will I need an entry permit, or am I qualified for the 144 hour transit pass? I am not sure.

Hi, you need to apply for a visa for the trip in advance because South Korea-Shanghai-South Korea is not a transit.
