About:Shangri-La Travel

I plan to travel to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Shangri-la.

Will it be more convenient for me to overnight at Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and travel to S-L the next day? If yes is there any budget accommodation recommended? Thank you.

I don't think it is wise to stay overnight at the mountain and actually no accommodation is avaiable nearby. So go to Lijiang to stay for a night and take the bus at Lijiang Bus Station to S-L in the next morning within 3-4h.

Thank you John for your reply. Is it recommendable to visit SL in Jan? As I saw an article saying that SL could be hit by the winter storm and the transportation in the city might be halted during these time.

To be honest, it’s not a good time to visit the place.
It will be very cold and as you mentioned, sometimes the transport may be halted.
