About:China Customs Declaration

Is it allowed to Take a few herbs into China?

My som is going to Shanghai on a one year scholarship. As a gift I want to make him an amulet containing a crystal and a few herbs.
Will he be allowed to bring This into China?

Well, I heard that it will be ok to bring this to China. But your son are suggested to declare it at the custom. And he'd better bring the introduction or other certificates which can prove the materials.
