About:Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport

is there an area for my son to wait at the Chongqing Jiangbei Airport through the night?

he arrives at 11pm and does not get the connection for 16 hours. Will he be safe? please advise.

Yes, and he is suggested to stay in the second floor, where may chairs are provided.
Or he can stay in the airport Lounge in T2, which can be easy to found by following the signs.

Generally speaking, you don't need to worry about the safety problem.
