About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Connecting in Beijing to a different Carrier (4 hour connection)

I am transiting thru Beijing and onward to a different carrier and country. So I will have to exit and claim my bags and recheck back in with the other carrier (got a deal on carriers separately) . My transit time is about 4 hours and it is on both ends of my trip in and out of Beijing. I will going from Beijing to Taipei and then back to Beijing from Seoul. Could I use the 24 direct transit for this or what is the best way to handle this?

Johnathan, do you mean you will travel like USA-Beijing-Taipei-Beijing-Seoul? If yes, you are able to use 24 hr direct transit in Beijing in both ways. No visa is required. Nice trip!

That is correct, however between Taipei and Seoul I will be doing a nonstop. However on either side of the trip LAX-PEK-TPE & ICN-PEK-LAX I will have a connection time of around 4 hours in Beijing and will need to exit to claim my luggage and recheck with a different carrier. So this made me a little nervous but knowing that I can utilize the 24 hr direct transit give me comfort in knowing that I don't have to get a visa! Thank you for all of your help, this website has been beyond helpful!
