About Transit visa to go out of the airport

Hi Team,

I'm writing this email in regard to my travel from Canada(Toronto) to India (Delhi) on 4th Dec 2017 and we have Layover in "Shanghai(PVG)" airport for 19 hours.
My question here is do we need a Transit visa to go out of the airport in my layover duration?
If yes, then in which category I have to apply for the same?
Also, there are two important details which I would like to share with you :
1. I have an Indian passport
2. We (me and my husband) are a permanent resident of Canada.

Hi, so your travel route is Toronto-Shanghai(within 24 hours)-Delhi-Shanghai(within 24 hours)-Toronto, right? If yes, you are able to use 24 hour direct transit in Shanghai in both ways. No visa is needed for that. Nice trip!
