Price to Visit

Hello, what is the entrance fee to the Great Wall? Also, do we need to hire a guide, or can we just enjoy walking the Great Wall by ourselves? We don't like tours and prefer to do everything on our own, since we don't like being timed - we like to take our time.

The entrace fee is different for different sections of the Great Wall. For your reference, the admission fee for Badaling is CNY40 from Apr. 1 to Oct. 31 and CNY35 from Nov. 1 to next Mar. 31. The fee for Mutianyu is CNY40 for adult and half price for senior citizens and children. It is fine for you to walk the wall on your own. But in my opinion, getting a guide for explanation may help you to understand the site better. Hope the information helps.
