About:Chinese Embassy in Fiji

I have a Fijian passport and am living in New Zealand

I want to visit China? Can I apply for my visa in New Zealand?

Yes, Lisa, you can apply for the Chinese in New Zealand as long as you have valid residence permit or entry permit in there. Don't worry!

Hello,
If your stay is less than 30 days, you do not require a visa for Mainland China. You do not require a visa for Hong Kong either, as long as your stay doesn't exceed 90 days.
You do need a visa for Macau, but you may aquire it on arrival and it is relatively inexpensive, especially if you opt to visit it through Hong Kong or the Mainland.
