About:China Visa Renewal and Extension

visum expires with 1 day

dear,
we are a circuscompany and entered China on the5th of oct with a work visum. We tried to extend the visum (ask residence) in BEJING, but it was denied because our final workday is in NANTONG on the 5th of novembre. Our flight back is on the 6th of nov. The organisation who invites us now says we better pay a fine instead of going to the exit-entry bureau in Nantong because the risk is to high we will not get our passports back in time.. Is this right? Will we have no other consequences then paying a fine? Is there a speed procedure available so we can extend the visa for 1 day and take no risks?

Hi, maybe you can choose to pay the fine for that. Usually, one needs to pay CNY500 per day after overstaying. Afterwards, you can apply for an exit pass to leave China.

thank you Quincy for your answer ! We are invited to perform to Macau and HongKong next year. Will this endanger the applications for HongKong? I read this horrible stories online! Is there a chance we will be denied our flight home? Thank you very much ! Rowena

Is there a way to avoid the possibility to be denied to leave on our flight the 6th ? (f.e because we need to apply for extra exit pass) We've read this happens sometimes. Can we apply for this exit pass in advance so we can be sure to be able to leave? Thank you for your help! warm wishes

Hi, maybe you cannot apply for this exit pass in advance. But I cannot guarantee that. You are advised to inquire this from the exit and entry administration of local PSB. Good luck!
