best time to visit harbin please

Hi, I would like to buy train ticket to Harbin. Need information about when sculpture and lantern will start in Harbin. Also, to book the hotel in Beijing, when do u suggest to book to get lower price? Should I book from now or wait till the winter come?

Hi, the Ice and Snow Festival is the highlight there, which is officially held during Jan. 5 - late Feb. and the trial operation usually start around Dec. 20 or a little late.Considerng all, I suggest you go in early Feb. and book the hotel in Beijing for that period as well, and the reservation can be done 1 month in advance in case.
