Transit in Guangzhou with Malaysia passport

Hi, I am flying from New York to Malaysia and there is a 8 hours layover in baiyun airport. I am holding a Malaysia passport, do I need visa for the transit?

According to the latest visa policy, you need to hold a transit visa for the layover.
