About:China Visa on Arrival

From Australia to Italy via 2 connection flights in China

Hi I am an Italian citizen.
I am flying back to Italy from Australia through China.
In particular my ticket is:
1) Sydney - Guangzhou
2) Guangzhou - Wuhan
3) Wuhan - Rome

The questions are:
- Can I get the 72 hours free transit to visit Wuhan?!
- Can I get a 24 hours free transit to stay in the Wuhan airport?
- if I can not get any visa free exemption what should I do?

Thank you
Simone

1) No.
2) No, because of your stop in Guangzhou which does not allow multinational transit.
3) Get a transit visa (type G) ASAP.

Thank you John for your answer, in the mean time I made more research and I found a page on this exact website,
Where it seems I could apply for a 24-hour direct transit, TWOV for short, directly at immigration.

Can you confirm it?
Thanks

Simone

You no longer can because those transiting at Guangzhou cannot have more stops in Mainland China. The only way for you to make your flight is a G visa.
