About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hi, I have a question in relation to using 72-hour free transit.

I currently have a ticket with Finnair which Lands in Beijing 29/04 and Leaves Shanghai 06/05 (same ticket) which constitutes 7 night.

If I purchased a flight Leaving Beijing 02/05 and flying back to Shanghai on 04/05 (Seoul) will I become eligible for the 72 hour transit on both occasions? Obviously these tickets will be with a different airline and on a different itinerary.

Thank you.

That's fine, but you have to leave Beijing on the 1st to be eligible since Beijing has a strict 72-hour policy. OTOH Shanghai has 144-hour transit so you'll have no problem on your return trip.

If the flight lands in the morning on the 29th (8am for example) does that not mean that 72 hours only comes 8am on the 2nd of May? Is it not allowed to stay until that time?
