Entry Date on Visa - change in travel plans

Last week I submitted a visa for business travel to China in November (10 year). The Date of Entry on the application was 11-Nov-2017. My plans have changed slightly such that I will be arriving a day earlier in Hong Kong (on 10-Nov-2017 at 20:00) and stay there for two days before traveling to mainland China. My question is -- do I need to update my application as I will be arriving a day earlier? It is expected I will receive my entry permit back by 27-Oct-2017. Thanks for your assistance.

Jon, personally I don't think it will be a problem as long as you can obtain the visa. Don't worry!

I travel to HK and China all the time. You don't need a VISA for HK if you have a US Passport. You will be in China during the Valid date of your visa, so you're good.
