Jinan to Chengdu by train

I would like to travel from Jinan to Chengdu by high-speed rail but it seems that I can't buy one ticket for the complete journey. Should I buy a ticket to Hefei, than another to Chengdu? Or would you recommend that I travel by another route e.g Beijing? Please advise, thank you
