Visiting China for sight seeing!

Hi, I am a Sierra Leonean in the Civil Service, and I am holding a Service Passport. I would like to visit China just for sight seeing, do I need an invitation for that since I don't have anyone living there? And what are the other criterion, including my documents?
Thanks!!

Yes, Abu, you need to apply for a tourist L type for the sightseeing in China. You are supposed to provide a filled-out application form affixed with a passport-style photo, your passport and its photocopy, and round trip air tickets and hotel reservation if you don't have the invitation letter.
