Visa-Free Transit for Beijing to shanghai

Hi there, I am looking to fly from Ulaan Baatar to shanghai via Beijing. I understand this includes a domestic flight but I want to get the 144 hour free transit in shanghai and the original plan was to get 72 hours in Beijing. is this possible if I do not leave the airport and go straight to Shanghai?

If you have two stops in China you are immediately limited to 24 hours in the country, in your case from scheduled arrival time in Beijing to scheduled departure time from Shanghai.
