registration for police?

Question

Hi! We are going to visit my friend who is studying in Shanghai. We are flying from Hong Kong to Shanghai and after four days to Ho Chi Minh City and back Hong Kong, so we should be eligible for the 144h free transit(we are from Finland). We are staying at his place, so do we need to register for the police when we arrive, and is there some specific dokuments we need for that? Thanks

Kalle, you need to to go to the local police station to register within 24 hours after you enter. You can bring your passport and other required documents for that.
