internal provincial travel on 144 hour free transit

Question

Hi - I see for arriving in one of Shanghai airports and getting 144 hour transit I can travel around the province and can even exit from another airport in the province e.g Nanjing. Can I fly between the two cities? Is it possible to e.g enter in Shanghai, get the 144 hour transit and get a connecting internal flight Shanghai to Nanjing and then a day or so later fly out to the third country from Nanjing? - Alternatively can I fly into Nanjing from outside country and then a day later fly domestic Nanjing to Shanghai - with a connecting flight to leave for a third country? Is this permitted? Thanks

Hi, the 144 hr free transit will allow you to travel like country A-Shanghai to Nanjing or Nanjing to Shanghai-country B. No need to worry! Nice trip!

Thanks Betty for this helpful reply - before I buy the ticket could you please confirm that using the 144 hour transit I can fly either 1. Country A to Nanjing, then Nanjing-Shanghai-Country B (connecting flights) OR 2. Country A to Shanghai-Nanjing (connecting flights), Nanjing to Country B. If I do pattern 2. I will queue for 144 hour transit stamp and then go direct to transfer to domestic flight ... about how long might this queue take ... the same as usual visa queue? wondering how long I need to transit to connecting doemstic flight. Do you know please where this is written offically (about internal connecting flights being OK) so I can print out and take as evidence in case?! many huge thanks

When you board the flight in Country A, you need to inform the airlines that you want to use the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai. It won't take you much time. After arriving at Shanghai, you can go to the transit counter to apply for the 144 hour free transit. Domestic flight from Shanghai to Nanjing or Nanjing to Shanghai will be fine for the free transit. You can confirm this with your airline.
