do i have to get out of china to apply for (z)(x)?

I have (M) and I'm in Guangzhou now, Can I apply for (Z) or (X) without leaving China?

Hi, you can try to convert your current M type to a Z or X type at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB within China. If it can succeed, there is no need to leave China. Good luck!
