What visa to get

Hi . I was invited by my friend to go to shanghai and i would probably stay there for 3 to 6 months. It is my first time so i dont know what visa to get. Will the F type be suitable ?

If you go to Shanghai for business purpose, you need to apply for an M type. If you intend to go there for exchanges, visits, study tours and other activities, you can apply for F type then. If for sightseeing purpose, a tourist L type will be fine.

A tourist L type will be fine to visit a friend. Usually, the duration of stay for M type is 30 days.
