72 Hr TWOV question.

Hello, my wife & I are flying from Miami (MIA) to Beijing (PEK) and planned on staying there for 2 days before going to Manila (MNL). Realized that our flight out of Beijing (PEK) to Manila has a 45 minute transfer in Guangzhou (CAN), will a 72 hour TWOV work?

72 hour TWOV will not work because of the stop in Guangzhou. You either need a visa or change your itinerary.

Hi there. I just wanted some clarification on this too as I am flying from Moscow to Beijing then visiting the city for 26 hours, then I will take a flight from Beijing to Sydney but I have to leave the plane in Guangzhou before getting the connecting plane the next morning (9 hours later) to Sydney. Can I get the 72 Hr Free Transit for at least Beijing and just sit in the Guangzhou airport and wait for my connecting planes. I tried to contact the embassy where I live but have had no reply and the airline cannot help me. Thanks so much for your help. Em

Hi, you won’t qualify for the 72 hour free transit anymore because the 72 hour policy only allows the traveler to transit in one Chinese city. You are advised to apply for a visa for that beforehand.
