do we have to carry towels with us?

I read in the list of things to pack on the website that we have to bring towels to travel in China. Will hotels give us towels or do we have to carry bath towels with us?

Most brand hotels in China provide towels for their guests at the hotel rooms. However, if you want, you may take your own towels and other toiletries when traveling.
