About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Visa or not?

Traveling to Beijing for 62.5 hours with plans to stay in Beijing hotel and take 2-day tour. Then off to Okinawa and Tokyo for 10 days. Then traveling home from Tokyo through Beijing with 4 hour layover...do I need to apply for a travel entry permit?

If your route is USA-Beijing-Japan-Beijing-USA, you can use the free transit in Beijing in both directions. No need to apply for any entry permit then.
